Commonwealth Soccer League, Inc. (CSL) was established in 1997 and is the greater Fredericksburg area's only sanctioned outdoor adult soccer league. CSL is a registered member of the MDCVSA, USSF, USASA, and FIFA. We are a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life and growing soccer within our community.

CURRENT LEAGUE NEWS  

THURSDAY, JULY 2 (2:55 a.m.) -- FALL 2009 REGISTRATION -- Fall 2009 registration is underway. The Registration Letter is now posted. You can click the "Registration" link above to view it. If you were on a team in the Spring, contact your manager on what you need to do to get signed up this season. INDIVIDUALS: The league offers an 11v11 House Team for players who can't find a team on their own. There is also a 7v7 Coed Rec Division (men have to be over 30). We can also email your contact information out to all the managers that we have emails for in case they are looking for players. REMINDER: ALL players must renew their player passes before the Fall season starts. 

MONDAY, JUNE 15 (12:28 p.m.) -- CSL FINALS WRAP-UP -- CSL concluded its spring 2009 season on Sunday with its First and Second Division finals at Fredericksburg Academy in front of 170-plus fans.

In the opener, Deportivo Santa Cruz and Fusion FC played to a 0-0 tie after 90 minutes of regulation and 20 minutes of overtime. In the ensuing shootout, both teams converted their first four attempts. However, Fusion missed its final shot before fifth-seeded Santa Cruz slipped its fifth shot past the Fusion keeper to complete its Second Division playoff run with a victory.

In the following First Division final, regular-season champion Real International FC won its third straight division championship with a 3-1 victory over second-seeded JMARMI FC. The teams exchanged penalty kick goals in the first half before Victor Gardner drilled a free kick for his second goal of the half to put Real up 2-1 at the half. Real’s Jermaine Anderson added another tally in the second half for the final score. Steven Rupp scored JMARMI’s lone goal.

SATURDAY, MAY 30 (3:02 p.m.) -- FIRST & SECOND DIVISION FINALS UPDATE -- CSL is proud to announce that, with cooperation from the FC Fredericksburg Gunners and Fredericksburg Academy, the Spring 2009 First and Second Division Finals will now be held on Fredericksburg Academy's beautiful Bermuda grass field. Click here or on the "News" link above for more details. 

THURSDAY, MAY 28 (4:09 p.m.) -- DISCIPLINE PAGE UPDATED FOR PLAYOFFS -- The Discipline page has been updated to reflect suspensions for this weekend's (May 30-31) games. Please be sure to check it, as anybody caught playing when they are not suppose to, will cause their team to forfeit. Click the "Discipline" link at the top of the page. 

WEDNESDAY, MAY 27 (2:28 p.m.) -- SCHEDULE CHANGE FOR 7v7 GAMES FOR SATURDAY, MAY 30 -- Due to a scheduling conflict, the 1:00 and 2:30 games on Saturday have been postponed and rescheduled for Saturday, June 6 at 4:00 and 5:30. PLEASE click the "7v7 Schedule" link at the top of the page for more details. The Saturday, May 30 4:00 and 5:30 games will still be played as scheduled. 

SATURDAY, MAY 16 (6:43 a.m.) -- SATURDAY'S 7v7 GAMES -- To find out the status of the Saturday, May 16 7v7 Coed Rec Division games, please go to www.fredfieldhouse.com. They will post if the games are postponed or not due to Friday's heavy rains. IF THERE IS NOTHING LISTED, THEN GAMES WILL BE PLAYED AS SCHEDULED! 

THURSDAY, MAY 14 (3:25 p.m.) -- LANDSDOWN ROAD CLOSED -- A reminder that Landsdown Road will be closed this weekend to through traffic due to work being done on the railroad crossing. An alternate for those who usually come that way would be to use Mine Road to get to get to Benchmark Road and then to Route 2 (Tidewater Trail). Make sure to leave yourself a little extra time to get to your games. 

TUESDAY, MAY 12 (4:30 p.m.) -- SPRING 2009 FINALS TIMES -- The times for the Spring finals have been changed to 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. At this time, the games will still be played at Loriella Park. Check the schedule regularly for any further updates.

TUESDAY, MAY 12 (4:23 p.m.) -- FORFEIT FOR USE OF INELIGIBLE PLAYER -- FCS St. Corinthians has forfeited their game against Tapatio played on Sunday, April 26 due to the use of an ineligible player. The scored will be recorded as a 3-0 win in favor of Tapatio. All stats from the match will be counted. The 11v11 Open Schedule and Standings page now reflect this change.

TUESDAY, MAY 5 (4:36 p.m.) -- OPEN SCHEDULE UPDATED -- The 11v11 Open Schedule has been updated with with changes made due to last Sunday's rain outs. ALL TEAMS should view the schedule, as some regular-season games and all playoff games were affected. IMPORTANT NOTE: We can not play beyond Sunday, June 14, so any further make-up games will either be set for Saturdays or cancelled all together. 

SUNDAY, MAY 3 (1:37 p.m.) -- LORIELLA PARK GAMES POSTPONED -- Games scheduled at Loriella Park have been postponed due to wet fields and expected more rain.

 THURSDAY, APRIL 30 (1:23 a.m.) -- PSW SOCCER BREAKFAST III (AND KICK AROUND AT FREDERICKSBURG FIELD HOUSE FRIDAY, MAY 1 -- If you would like to help the local soccer scene improve, then we really want to see you at our next breakfast meeting to be held at the Fredericksburg Field House on Friday, May 1st from 7:30-9:00 a.m. This breakfast series is designed to break down the communication barriers between soccer-focused organizations and individuals. Any topic is on the table, which we'll discuss casually, but with PSW Editors as moderators to make sure everyone's top issues are addressed. In our first two in this series, we've had small but lively discussions, and a ton of networking between attendees. PSW provides free coffee, tea, and bagels and kicks things of with the top three hot topics we've been hearing about in our newsroom and discussed on our public forums. Then it's your turn. An added benefit to this breakfast in Fredericksburg is the after-breakfast kick-around, which is held pretty much every Tuesday and Friday morning at the Field House. We'll start playing at 9 sharp. SUNDAY, MARCH 8 (5:09 p.m.)-- OPEN SCHEDULE CHANGES -- The 11v11 Open Schedule may be changing. It will be updated after tonight's meeting at the Field House. Please check back regular or check with you managers for updates. 

TUESDAY, MARCH 3 (5:23 p.m.) -- OPEN SCHEDULE POSTED -- The 11v11 Open Schedule for the first weekend of games, Sunday, March 15, is now posted and can be viewed by clicking the "Open Schedule" link at the top of the page. 

MONDAY, MARCH 2 (1:11 p.m.) -- MAKE-UP PLAYER REGISTRATION MEETING -- A make-up Player Registration Meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 4 from 8:00-9:00 p.m. at Fredericksburg Field House. Damian and Jeff will be in charge, so keep an eye out for them. ***This will be the FINAL date for 11v11 players to register players to be available for the first game to be scheduled for Sunday, March 15. An email with more details have been sent out to all managers. 

MONDAY, MARCH 2 (1:05 p.m.) -- SPRING 2009 SCHEDULES -- We hope to have the schedules for 11v11 and 7v7 posted by Thursday, March 5. 

SATURDAY, FEB. 28 (6:40 a.m.) -- PLAYER REGISTRATION MEETING -- The FINAL Player Registration Meeting before the Spring 2009 season will by held tomorrow, at 7:00 p.m., at Fredericksburg Field House. **IMPORTANT NOTE** - There is potential winter weather rolling in tomorrow evening... As long as the Field House is open, the meeting will be held. Go to www.fredfieldhouse.com to check on the Field House's status. 

THURSDAY, FEB. 12 (10:20 p.m.) -- SPRING 2009 TEAM REGISTRATION MEETING -- The firstRegistration Meeting for the Spring 2009 season is this Sunday, Feb. 15, at 7:00 p.m., at Fredericksburg Field House. All teams wishing to participate in the Spring 2009 season, should attend this meeting!! WHAT IS DUE: $500 nonrefundable deposit & Team Registration Form. SATURDAY, FEB. 7 (5:15 p.m.) -- COMMONWEALTH CLASSIC -- It's Official!! MDCVSA, CSL's parent organization, has decided to sanction the 1st Annual Commonwealth Classic adult soccer tournament to be held on July 11-12 at Patriot Park in Spotsylvania. SUNDAY, JAN. 18 (4:37 p.m.) -- EXHIBITION GAME A SUCCESS -- Saturday night's exhibtion indoor soccer game against the FC Fredericksburg Generals was a success in reaching the main goal of the night, which was helping raise funds for the U14 FASA Elite girls soccer team's trip to Europe. Click here, for more information.

MONDAY, NOV. 17 (3:37 p.m.) -- RAPPAHANNOCK SPORTS EARNS 100th ALL-TIME WIN -- Long-time CSL member Rappahannock Sports became the first CSL team to reach the 100-career win plateau during the Fall 2008 season. Rappahannock reached the milestone with a 7-1 win over Fusion FC in the team's regular-season finale on Sunday, Oct. 26.
