Commonwealth Soccer League, Inc. (CSL) was established in 1997 and is the greater Fredericksburg area's only sanctioned outdoor adult soccer league. CSL is a registered member of the MDCVSA, USSF, USASA, and FIFA. We are a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life and growing soccer within our community.

LEAGUE NEWS
MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND-- Games that were scheduled for Sunday, May 26 have been postponed. The semifinals and finals will be pushed back one week to June 2 and June 9, respectively. The semifinal schedule will be posted as soon as possible this week. (Posted 5/19/13, 11:13 p.m.)
SCHEDULE CHANGE-- The Quantico FC vs. St. Corinthians game originally scheduled for Sunday, May 5, has been moved to Friday, May 3, due to a scheduling conflict at the Field House. Please review the schedule regularly. (Posted 4/21/13, 8:00 p.m.)

**IMPORTANT NOTE WHEN PLAYING/SPECTATING AT THE FREDERICKSBURG FIELD HOUSE FIELD** -- There is to be NO SMOKING inside any of the fenced-in area of the outdoor field. This includes not only on the field and bench area, but also in the spectator area, the bleachers, etc. If you are caught smoking inside the fenced in area you will be asked the leave the premises. NEW SCHEDULE & DIVISIONAL ALIGNMENT HAVE BEEN POSTED -- With the addition of two new teams, Toroz Neza and RIFC Legends we had to make some changes. The new First and Second Division alignment, along with the newly updated MARCH schedule, have been posted on the "Open Divisions" page. Please click that like above on the left to view them. FULL SCHEDULE UPDATED -- Had a couple oversights that needed to be corrected on the schedule. An updated version has been posted. Only games after the Easter Holiday weekend were affected. (Posted2/26/1, 5:42 p.m.)
FULL SCHEDULE POSTED -- The full Spring 2013 schedule is posted. There may be a few adjustments made here and there, so please be sure to check the schedule regularly. PLAYER REGISTRATION DAY -- On the posted Spring 2013 schedule Sunday, March 10 is listed as a "Registration Day. This day will be used to complete registration for the first games schedules either on March 17 or 24. Teams should have their players show up for to complete payments, paperwork, etc. at this time. We have also set up 1-hour blocks that teams can use to scrimmage/ practice with another CSL team. IMPORTANT REMINDER: The Team Registration Fee of $1,300 MUST be paid by March 10, or the fee increases to $1,450. (Posted 2/19/13. 5:50 p.m.)

SPRING 2013 MONETARY DISCOUNTS -- The following teams will receive the following dmonetary discounts based on results from the Fall 2012 season: (Posted 1/19/13, 1:11 p.m.)

FALL 2012 CHAMPION CROWNED -- The Fall 2012 CSL season came to an end on Sunday with the League Championship at Partriot Park followed by the Fall Awards Banquet at Cancun Mexican Margarita Bar & Grill.
It was a spirted match between Amanican Sympathy Seekers and St, Corinthinas, who were both No. 1 seeds coming ot of their groups following regular-season play.
Amanican jumped out to a 2-0 lead after a penalty kick goal by Cliff Green in the first half and a second score by Green about a minute into the second.
However, St. Corinthians fought back to tie the score, 2-2, on goals by Chris Anthony and Juan Meza, Meza's coming with under 10 minutes to play in regulation. The game went to "Golden Goal" overtime, but thanks to solid defense and goalkeeping at both ends of the field, neither team was able to break the deadlock during the two 10-minute periods.
With the game still needing a winner, it went to penalty kicks where Stephen Coleman, Green and Matt Cruz converted for Amanican, while only Anthony Van Hoven was able to conver for St. Corinthians, giving Amanican its first-ever CSL title. (Posted 11/12/12, 10:57 a.m.)

2 MORE NEW TEAMS BRING NEW SCHEDULE & GROUPS IN STANDINGS -- With the addition of an 11th and 12th team to the 11v11 league, the two groups in the Open Division were adjust and the schedule was updated to accomodate the growth of the league. UPDATED 11v11 OPEN DIVISION SCHEDULE -- Due to the addition of a 10th team, there have been changes made to the 11v11 Open Division Schedule. Teams will no longer have byes. This is US's soccer's third tier on the soccer pyramid for men's soccer and currently the top level pro-am level for the women... SCHEDULES -- Be sure to double check your team's schedule before each week's games. If you printed out a schedule at the beginning of the season, it may have changed. It's always a good policy not to do so and to check the league website each week in case there have been any changes. The league also posts a weekly schedule on its Facebook page. 11v11 OPEN DIVISION GAMES POSTPONED -- ALL CSL games scheduled for Sunday, April 22 have been postponed due to rain and wet field conditions. These games will for a later date (most likely Sunday, May 6). Check the league website this week for an officially updated schedule. Teams are reminded to stay off all CSL field when games are postoned or risk possible fines or suspension. (4/22/12, 7:57 a.m.)
7v7 COED REC DIVISION GAMES POSTPONED -- The games scheduled for Saturday, March 24, have been postponed due to rain and the anticipation of more rain throughout the day. Games will be rescheduled for a later date. (3/24/12, 10:52 a.m.)

D.C. UNITED LA SUPER COPA VII -- Real International FC, the Fall 2011 league champions, will represent CSL in the tournament which takes place on D.C. United's artificial turf practice field in Washington D.C. Real edged out St. Corinthians, the Spring 2011 league champions, with its better record for the 2011 playing year (combined Spring and Fall season record). Real finished the year with a 16-2-4 record, while St. Corinthians finished 13-4-5. Real will take on Atletico Virginia at 1 p.m., on Saturday, MARCH 31, in the tournament's first round. Just 16 league champions from the Virginia-D.C.-Maryland metro area were invited out of over 30 that attempted to enter the competition. Click here for the full schedule. The schedule for the games on Sunday, March 11, did not change from the original schedule that was posted, but there were several other games in future weeks that did. 11v11 OPEN DIVISION GROUPS ANNOUNCED -- The Spring 2012 division will be split into two groups again this season. Teams will play the other teams in your group once and three teams from the other group once for a total of seven regular-season games. All teams will make the playoffs. Hope to have a schedule posted soon. All teams should be prepared to play Sunday, March 11. Here are the groups:

FINAL SPRING 2012 REGISTRATION MEETING -- The final registration meeting will be held this Sunday, Feb. 26 from 7-8:30pm at Fredericksburg Field House. This will be the final chance for 11v11 Open Division teams to pay the team fee of $1,300. If not paid in full by this date, the fee increases to $1,450. This is also the final date for 11v11 Open teams to register players in order to guarantee that they are eligible for the first scheduled game on Sunday, March 11. ALL completed registration paperwork MUST be turned in at this time to guarantee registration. An updated roster AND player passes must also be turned in at this meet. Managers a strongly encourage to attend or have a team representative attend in their place.
7v7 Coed Rec teams have until Sunday, March 4 to turn in the above information, paperwork and fees ($750 team fee, fee increases to $850 if not paid in full by this date) as the 7v7 season is not scheduled to begin until Saturday, March 17. (MONDAY, FEB. 19, 5:00 p.m.)

THURSDAY, NOV. 17 (11:48 a.m.) -- CANNED FOOD AND PENNY DRIVE -- The Canned Food and Penny Drive
done by CSL and FSCI Phoenix at Sunday's Commonwealth SoccerFest to close out the Fall season collected 153 cans and 3,062 pennies to benefit the Thurman Brisben Center. Not bad for one day's work. To learn more about the Thurman Brisben Center, CLICK HERE.
TUESDAY, NOV. 15 (3:58 p.m.) -- CSL IN THE MEDIA -- Check out CSL on Virginia Soccer Online News and Potomac Soccer Wire. They also have Facebook pages, so be sure to like their pages and subscribe to their sites. They are both great sources of soccer in Virginia and the surrounding areas. Both have also been supporters of the league in recent years!
TUESDAY, NOV. 15 (updated, 10:43 a.m.) -- FALL CHAMPIONS CROWNED -- Sunday wrapped up the Fall 2011 CSL season with some quality play at Patriot Park. On Saturday, Fusion FC COED got a 3-1 win over FAC Furia Roja to win the 7v7 Coed Rec Championship. On Sunday, the league had an 11v11 Open Division Semifinal-Final doubleheader due to rain outs pushing play back during the season. In the morning Real International FC topped Fusion FC 7-0 in one semifinal, while St. Corinthians edged Rappahannock Sport 2-2 (3-2) in penalty kicks. Real International FC and St. Corinthians met for the second straight season in the final, with Real pulling out a come-from-behind 2-2 (4-3) win in penalty kicks.
