Commonwealth Soccer League, Inc.

Commonwealth Soccer League, Inc. (CSL) was established in 1997 and is the greater Fredericksburg area's only outdoor adult soccer league. CSL is a registered member of the MDCVSA, USSF, USASA, and FIFA. We are a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life and growing soccer within our community.

League or team sponsorship are available.

Where We Play 

CSL plays its games primarily in the city of Fredericksburg and the county of Spotsylvania. Games are played regularly at Old Mill Park in Fredericksburg and Cosner Park, Loriella Park and Thornburg Middle School in Spotsylvania. We have also played games at Pratt Park in Stafford and Barnett Stadium on the Quantico Marine Base.

When We Play

CSL has leagues that run during the Fall and Spring seasons every year. The Fall season usually kicks off the second or third weekend in in August and runs until early to mid-November. The Spring season usually begins the second or Third weekend in March and concludes in mid-June. We do n ot currently host any summer outdoor or winter indoor leagues

Our Stucture

CSL is set up based on skill level of the teams that are in the league and uses a Promotion/Relegation format to try and keep the divisions as competitive as possible from season to season. We currently have three 11v11 Open divisions (First, Second and Third) and one Coed Rec 7v7 Division (men 0ver-35 and women of any age).

Competition

We guarantee each team in each division a minimum of eight (8) played games, which will consist of either regular season, playoff or in-season tournament games.

We do our best to offer at least a playoffs semifinal round and championship within each division every season with the winner being considered that season's division champion.

During the Fall seasons we also host the Marino Cup Upper and Lower Bracket Tournaments. This is an in-season tournament pitting First and Second Division teams against each other in the Upper Bracket and Second and Third Division teams against each other in the Lower Bracket. There is usually a qualifying round between Second Division teams with winners advancing to the Upper Bracket and losers to the Lower Bracket.
