ASSASSINS F.C. for the second year in a row finished 2-1-0, failing to advance to the final. According to team coordinator, Rusty Lawter, "[The team is] at a slight disadvantage because most of our opponents play together in over-40 leagues and we play together for one or two tournaments a year. Over the next 12 months, we'll add a couple more tournaments and hopefully improve team chemistry for Neptune 2009." Team scoring was lead by Guy Miller Richards with 3 goals. Other goals came from Peter Kim, Ciro Marchetti, Kalani Nuesca and Rusty Lawter. Additionally, solid defensive performances were contributed by, guest player, Bill Sypawka and keeper, Parker Schramm. FCS St. Corinthians just missed out on reaching the semifinals after falling to Real International in the teams' final preliminary game on Sunday morning. FC Fredericksburg was a bit unfortunate after a thunderstorm hit at halftime and the tournament rules forced their semifinal match against Real International to go straight to overtime after the weather stopped. Neither team scored in the over time and Real pulled off the win in penalty kicks.
